Righto. So I bought an old (but never used) Wacom ArtzII 12x12" tablet off eBay. Everything went really smoothly - the seller was really helpful, the price was good, and it arrived from the US to Australia within a week. Beautiful. So, yesterday evening I unpacked the box and plugged it in… big mistake.

The power adaptor was an American-style one. I, in all my wisdom, grabbed this cheap little plastic adaptor thingo which converts it to an Australian power plug… But it only did that. It **didn’t** convert the current from 240V to 120V, but merely changed the shape of the plug. So… I got 240V running through this power adaptor which was only made to take 120V… The tablet worked for about 20 seconds, then I heard a loud pop from the powerpoint (not the tablet, the power adaptor), and smelled smoke.

So yeah… Needless to say, the tablet ceased to work thereafter. I tried a gazillion other power adaptors, but it refused to work. I even tried the same American plug, but it didn’t do _anything_ at all any more. Sooooo… I’m guessing I’ve killed something inside the tablet ☹

It takes 9V-12V DC power via an adaptor… That’s all I know.

Is there anything I can do? Can any electronics experts offer any help?
