# HELP! Is my monitor dead?

I’ve been working away for about 6 hours and my Planar PX171M-B suddenly goes blank, then starts displaying this strange greenish pattern/gradient/groovy colors kind of like a visualizer on a media player, then it disappears. Now whenever I turn on the monitor it just does that same woozy visualizer-esque display then goes blank. If I try to hit the “menu” OSD button on the monitor, it just displays another set of gradient melding then dies again.

I have two monitors set up on a GeForce FX5200; the Planar was on the DVI.

Does this sound familiar at all?
