# Help me recover my files please

Hi,  
I think it was kaza that gave me trojans and then virouses through pop up adds since all 7 of us including my 18 month old baby uses this computer. So, I put all files I wanted to keep on a cd and formatted the hard drive. Now, I get “can not read from source or disk” error message, when I try to put the files on cd back in the computer. Then I downloaded a software called cd check and it did recover the files, and put them on the hard drive, but I can see the contents of 1 in about 30 files. It was the same way on the cd too. Is there any other software with free download for this purpose that would do a better job? I hope I can do this specially because when I roll over each file, it shows thesize of the file in kb.
