# Help on assignment: post-desktopinterface

im not sure if im in the right place for this but since i have enjoyed reading this board/forum i thought why not post something.

Im writing a paper on the “desktop” interface and what would be the next step/generation; We have been using an interface based on the old concept with office metafors (apple\>windows) for a long time now and some think this isnt the way to go. Im currently searching for recources about this subject, so i was wondering if any of you had some suggestions. Anything is welcome;[/size][/font]

-with criticism  
-information about alternative interfaces (concepts, prototypes etc)

- ive heard something about a 3d Sun interface?  
-interface design theorys  
-interface history  
-relevant names of authors, related subjects etc.
