Is there a way to code something that will react like an iPod’s clickwheel?

For instance, in Flash I would like to have a circular button, and when you click and drag on the button [around in circles] to the right, it will increase a number. If you drag in the opposite direction, it will decrease the number.

Is it possible to code something that will recognize which direction I’m dragging??

Any help is appreciated!
