# HELP : targetting nested movies

Hi guys,

I’m a little lost on the proper uses of \_root and \_parent. I think I made this thing more complex than I could even imagine.

My problem is this. In my main timeline, I placed a movie clip called “container\_mc” which will load external movies from a directory.

Now this external movie I am loading also has another movie clip that loads another external movie. Suppose to be but it’s not working. I named it “popup\_mc”.

How can I access the root of the current movie, not the main timeline? I tried \_parent but it’s not working either. I just spent my entire afternoon experimenting before seeking help here. I hope someone can shed light to my problem =)
