# Help! What bug is freezing up my .swf?

Hi all,

was hoping to get through the rest of my site without having to post again…

I’m using the Kirupa ‘Sliding menu’ as detailed here:

Recently however, my .swf has started to display a glitch, whereby the buttons which scroll the movieclip stop working after a short time, effectively freezing the site. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? It seems to have started to occur recently, while I was optimizing my site by swapping out my (embarrassingly large) .jpegs for much smaller ones, although I’m sure that’s not what’s causing the problem. Now it happens every time I test my .swf, as well as in the final published site ([www.lauriekono.com/troy](http://www.lauriekono.com/troy) - try clicking on the menu buttons for a short time and see for yourself). I should add that publishing in Flash 7 didn’t seem to stop the bug, and neither did removing the “loadSound” lines of code (in case streaming the sound was causing a conflict).

I’ve tried everything I can think of - does anyone else have an idea?
