# Help with delaying the appearance Hover captions by a few seconds

I have used the tutorial for Hover captions found here:

and I have searched the forum but can’t find an answer to my specific question.

I’d like to have the caption appear after the user hovers for 2 or 3 seconds----rather than immediately.

I have been told to use setTimeout for this but am not sure how to do that.

Can anyone help me out—seems like a simple enough thing to accomplish!
