# Help with FFmpeg open source

please help me with the open source program FFmpeg… i just downloaded and installed it. But from there, I cant get any further. I was recommended this program, because it was free and it was just what I needed. I need a upload system for a site to upload videos online which will then be converted. I cant find any tutorials which a helpfull.  
Please advise…☹
