# Help with Flash tutorial: Timeline

Hi,  
I just followed this tutorial on Kirupa:

I am really confused to what the “timeline” is. The tutorial says to drag a movie onto the timeline, but in the picture they drag a movie on to the STAGE area. Am i totally out here?
