# Help with PS effect!? Thanks

Hi everyone.  
I’m new to this forum, as well as new to Hpotoshop, and I’m trying to duplicate the effect used in the iPod advertisements, with the completely blackened figures over a bright background. How would I go about doing this if I have a picture of a friend ready for modification?
