# Help with this photo effects in Photoshop Plz!

I’ve takin many pictures from my SONY DSCV1 digital camera that i want to edit in Photoshop to make it look like the one’s from this website on the gallery section, [http://wwws.warnerbros.co.uk/movies/catwoman/](http://wwws.warnerbros.co.uk/movies/catwoman/) but i can’t seem to figure out how they do it. Is there anyone here that knows or has a link on how to do these effects? I just love those effects or enhancements i should say on a picture.

i think he meant enhancements…
i still dont get it either, but the only thing you could try would be the “curves” option and the “brightness and contrast” settings…

I dont think any photoshop was used it is a movie so they probably used a really expensive camera.

Yea they are captured from the movie. Im guessing your camera doesnt give the best output, so in comparison something pro like that looks enhanced. A good level adjustment does wonders, so try that. Then again, depending on how poor the original is…theres only so much you can do with it.

Sorry… i mean the enhancements. If you look at the normal pictures taken from a normal digital camera… im sure it doesnt look as good as those. So thats when i thought that they would have been enhanced somehow.

Depending on how much you are willing to spend on a digital camera pictures can easily be taken at that quality.

almost always hollywood enhances photos. I have a friend that is hard core in the digital film industry and they use a tool made by Nik if I am not mistaken. But you yourself can do color corrections add D.O.F, levels…the list goes on. But a good camera does help. But more often than not a perfect shot will not be taken and will need enhancement.

I don’t think those pictures have been manipulated. What makes them look the way they do is that the lighting is controlled and the camera/lens combination allows for shallow depth-of-field.
You could set up (or find) similar lighting conditions. But I think you’ll have a hard time getting as shallow DOF with your camera. The problem with most small digital cameras is that the sensor inside the camera is very small. That invariably leads to pictures with greater DOF.
For the shallowest DOF, try setting your camera in aperture priority mode and then set the aperture to the lowest value available (I think it’s f/2.8 on your camera). Also zoom in as much as you can. And stand as close to your subject as possible.

i can replicate those enhancements in photoshop, but you do need a killer camera to start off with.

dude… those are frames taken from the reel, which in turn were taken by a $100,000+ stage video cam. You’re not going to be able to “enhance” something to that level, without starting with some really good equipment, DSLR would be the very least you’d need to come close…
