Those out there with little to no experience with Flash may find this bit useful as this was something I ran into many times when I first began using Flash.

If you need to make something fade from 100% transparent to 100% opaque, you need to make it (what you want to fade) into a MOVIE CLIP. I have run into this countless times.

I would start a project using Flash after about a couple of months not having used it (I am a Computer Animator firstly and a Web Designer secondly where I work) and I would forget this fact and consequently bang my head againt the wall for a while before stumbling onto this fact again. It was very frustrating.

So I would like to ease others frustrations with my meagre experience
