I’m attempting to build a CSS based menu. (There’s a little javascript in there also, apparantly IE needs this.)

Please remove the Xs from this url.

I’m very close to what I want and i have some rollovers working fine on the main navigation (what i’m calling .menutitle). My issue is with the rollovers on the drop-down links (what I’m calling .menuitem) as they are displaying constantly. I have a solid colour (#333333) set as the basic background for these items although I never see this because my rollover image (orange background) is always displayed.

This is the code that works fine on my menu titles:

#nav li:hover .menutitle {
background: url(images/navrollover.gif);
}

and this is what’s not working properly on my drop-down items:

.menuitem{
background-color: #333333;

}

#nav li:hover .menuitem {
background: url(images/navbutton.gif);
}

Thanks in advance for any pointers.
