What stands out with _The Martian_ is how Weir built an audience first by posting it chapter by chapter, then made it easy for readers to keep sharing it. It’s a good reminder that sometimes the path isn’t “get picked,” it’s “keep publishing until people can’t ignore it.”

Sarah, your bit about posting it chapter by chapter matters because each update doubled as a feedback loop, and that’s a lot sturdier than waiting on one gatekeeper to guess right.
