# How can i decrease the fla size?

Hi, i have a fla. that has 3 buttons and 1 bar (made in flash) and that makes my fla weight 2.2mb which i don’t really know why…  
How can i reduce it?

You could try ‘Save As’ or ‘Save and Compact’.

you have jpgs? stuff that you don’t use in the final render but you have in the fla?

I do have a photo i downloaded from google, but i don’t think it weights that much, their dimensions are around 1200x1000.  
Anyway, i am doing this for a flash den project and it can’t look pixelated.

Two things increase an fla filesize:

1. Symbols in your Library. Typically these will be imported images and sounds and the solution is to fully optimise them before importing into Flash.
2. Your history. This includes all of the changes you’ve made to the fla since it was last opened plus every symbol your document has ever contained - even if you’ve deleted them from your Library. The solution is to use Save and Compact or Save As.
