# How can I edit video I took?

I just got a new digital camera and, like most, it has the ability to record video as well. It stores it as a .avi file. I am wondering if there is a free program or relatively cheap one that would allow me to edit the video.

Obviously I’m not looking to do anything fancy (or else I would be using a video camera). I would like to be able to at least cut sections of the video, mainly the beginning and end.
