# How can I get my text to look as good as \_sans?

I read that \_sans matches up on a mac to helvetica. The thing is I choose helvetica, 12pt, and custom for readability and the generic font still just looks way clearer and way better. Is there any font that’s good for readability on a mac (no pixel fonts please) and I can still embed to keep consistent across all platforms?
