# How can I toggle between clips inside a button

[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]I’ve created equalizer to my flash movie. I want to use it as a on/off toggle for the sound.[/SIZE][/FONT]  
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3] [/SIZE][/FONT]  
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]I’ve created one symbol with an animation that imitate music playing and another that imitate shutting down music.[/SIZE][/FONT]  
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3] [/SIZE][/FONT]  
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]I put them in a button frames.[/SIZE][/FONT]  
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3] [/SIZE][/FONT]  
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]Right now , on up frame I insert the “equalizer on” symbol and in down frame I place the “equalizer of” f symbol , so as I release the button its go back to the initial state.[/SIZE][/FONT]

[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]How can I toggle between clips inside a button ?[/SIZE][/FONT]

My opinion is:

Don’t use buttons. A button is a movieclip with labels. Use movieclips instead, and you’ll be able to have more control over what’s happening inside.

In your situation I would create a mc with different labels for the different states (on/off).

I haven’t used buttons since flash 5 and I’m really happy without them 🙂
