# How do I close an empty movie clip?

heres the code

```auto
 
on(release){
_root.createEmptyMovieClip("newWindow", 3);
_root.newWindow.attachMovie("newmovie","newmovie1", 3);
_root.newWindow._x=250;
_root.newWindow._y=176.8;
}

```

and it is placed on a button. but I need to have an ‘x’ on the empty movieclip or the newmovie that was loaded to close the Clip that was loaded. because I have a few buttons that will load different empty movie clips and I don’t want to have 2 different movieClips in the same place overlapping eachother or 3 or 4 just sitting there.  
I don’t know how to close Empty movie clips. any help would be appreciated. 🙂

By close, do you just mean to remove that empty clip you created? if so use;

[AS]  
\_root.newWindow.removeMovieClip();  
[/AS]
