# How do I fade in dynamic text?

I have a web page with a generic button. The text inside the button is dynamic - and I have 5 copies of this button on the stage. I want these buttons to fade in after my intro - I tried a couple of things but I can’t seem to figure out how to fade in these buttons.

Looking at your file, the way it’s set up now requires that each button be placed on a layer of it’s own instead of one single layer. You can’t fade multiple objects that are sharing the same layer.
Also if you want to fade dynamic text, you need to embed the font first.

ok,
I did that, and changed the alpha, tweened each button - and from the playhead I can see the button fading in but when I test it, the text does not fade in - Is it because it’s dynamic text? how do i fix this?

As stated in my post above, if you want to fade dynamic text, you need to embed the font. Run a search in this section on embeding fonts.
