# How do I keep instance name when i use duplicateMovieClip?

I have used the duplicateMovieClip to make a jpg image duplicate and fall from the top of the movie. However, when the clips are duplicated, they no longer have the instance name. I need the instance name, or else the preloader i am making won’t work. Is there any way to tell the duplicated movie clips what their instance name is, or do I have to try something else? Thanks in advance…
