# How do I paste frames?

Hi,  
I’m sorry if this is a dumb question, but I’m jumping from Flash 5 to Flash 8 (missed everything in between). Flash 5 I could copy frames, say 5 layers of 30 frames each, then Insert New Symbol and Paste Frames, now I can’t seem to do that in Flash 8. It all goes into one frame, one layer when I tried. Hindsight, decided what I was working on would be better as a movie clip, so that’s what I’m trying to do, move it from the main stage to a movie clip symbol. Any help is much appreciated!
