# How to control buttons of 2 external swf MX04

Hi,

which is th tutorial from [http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/transitions.htm](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/transitions.htm)

Anyways the external swfs are working fine BUT when i click the gallery button and load the xml driven gallery from the tutorial here: [http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/xml\_flash\_photogallery.htm](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/xml_flash_photogallery.htm)  
the buttons work in the gallery but now not the main swf… why is this?

I read in this link:

That it happens but cannot work out how to fix it.  
obviously i need the buttons to work in the main swf and the buttons within the container…
