# How to... convert movie into gif

Hi…i’ve imported a movie (.avi) into flash and i want it to export has an animated gif… how can i do that?

You would have to try publishing the movie rather than exporting it. Look under your file menu \> publish settings, I think you should be able to set it as a gif there

i did that and the .gif file only appears white

Okay, well sorry I thought that might work. I have never tried making a gif from an fla before. Did you check out the Flash help files concerning this?
