How does one go about determining the rendering speed or complexity of a vector graphic in the Flash IDE or in code?

For example, I have two multi-frame animation symbols containing nested graphics/movieclips. I would like to know which symbol would perform better. Preferably, I would also like to be able to quantify the performance of each when put on the stage.

Thanks!
