# How to do a certain kind of animation (I'm stumped)

I’m trying to figure out how to create an animation in which an object (like a curved line) basically starts off as a point and transformes into the full image gradually, as if it were being drawn.  
I made a little gif animation as an example of what i mean:

like that, except of course fluid and smooth.
