# HTTPService class in actionscript project

Hi,  
Is it possible to use HTTPService class in a pure actionscript project (without any  
flex framework). This is primarily to reduce the size of the SWF.  
Similarly is it possible to use event dispatcher (sorry if this doesn’t make sense, i am  
new to flash) without mx/flex libraries?
