For the last five or so years I have sworn off the holiday and just drank beers by myself and watched football.

A week or so ago my girlfriend asked me what I was doing and I told her my tradition.

She said she was doing nothing either and seemed kind of bummed about it. I inquired and she said her mom was pretty sick again and just couldn’t deal with it. So (amazingly) I offered to cook a turkey and all the whatnot that goes with it and bring it over.

She loved the idea and lit up at the suggestion.

I am actually a pretty good cook, but have never cooked a huge turkey and an entire meal for a whole family before. I am actually pretty pumped about it.

So Thursday bright and early this mofo is going to get all domesticated and be up at 6AM starting to prepare a feast.
