Practice, practice and more practice. šŸ™‚ I think the way most of us learned was by playing around with the program and visiting sites like Kirupa. Doing tutorials and then taking them further is one of the best ways I know of. šŸ™‚ ---

i agree with kit [SIZE=3]PRACTICE, PERSISTENCE, TRIAL & ERROR[/SIZE] I think that sums up how those peeps have such cool sites šŸ™‚ I hope to be like them one day šŸ˜ ---

5 good books, performing every tutorial that they contained, and [www.Kirupa.com](http://www.Kirupa.com) thatā€™s all it took. Though my site still sucksā€¦ been in a slump, and before that spent a lot more time helping people here than working on it. Eventually it will be doneā€¦ just taking time. šŸ™‚ ---

Dave I dont know how you can do it. I have a hard time going back to something I worked on 2 weeks ago let alone how long you have been working on your site for. I just come back to things and think - ah why not start all over, I have a better idea anyway and than BAMO nothing ever getā€™s done ā˜¹ ---

playing on flash everyday is a great help even if your not on it for very longā€¦ but if you leave it you will forget how to do itā€¦ i didā€¦ :beard: ---

wellā€¦ I can say that Iā€™ve learned flash REALLY fastā€¦ I didnt get heavy into it until last Decemberā€¦ and I dont think the secret is practiceā€¦ of course, youā€™ll get better with experience, but if you just go out and buy a book and do the examples, thereā€™s the likelyhood that youā€™re going to quitā€¦ ā€¦ so you have to find something else to motivate you, and thatā€™s the secretā€¦ because you can only learn so much by the hour, but wether youā€™re motivated or not determines how much time a day youā€™ll be studying flashā€¦ I can say that Iā€™ve sat in front of a computer for 8 hours straight trying to figure out how to do something for my siteā€¦ ā€¦ find an idea, and then go for that. Set your sights on doing something thatā€™s thoroughly complicated, and if youā€™re motivated enough, youā€™ll eventually do itā€¦ ---

Sureshotā€¦ I suffer the same problem. That in addition to being a procrastinator is a real pain in my butt, and itā€™s exactly why the site has never been completed. I break from it for a while and by the time I return I opt to recreate the whole thingā€¦ I get to a hurdle and I have to break from it again. Really itā€™s a matter of never learning how to deal with walls well in life. Learn nowā€¦ while your young that a hurdle is meant to be jumped. If you stop to think about how to cross itā€¦ youā€™ve lost the steam needed to do so. ---

tutorials, tutorials, tutorials, and more tutorials. Of course jsut knowing how to use the program still doesnā€™t mean you will make any thing cool. The is still some natural design skills needed to make the really cool stuff. ---
