# I want to know how to do a scrollbar without buttons

I need to know how to do a scrollbar without buttons just with what I think is a scroll thumb and a scroll track. In this website

[http://www.cruciallimit.com/](http://www.cruciallimit.com/) has something similar in his laboratory section called “Inertia Scrollbar” for download. It was done in Flash 5, but it should work the same in MX, you can probably download and study that.

[www.ziggwi.com](http://www.ziggwi.com) has what I think you mean.  
The easiest way I found to emulate it was to just use the scrollbar component, and then stretch it so that the track is the width/height of the text box, and cover the buttons with a background coloured box in the layer above it.  
So you end up with just the position bar and and the track. The buttons are sitll there but covered, and unusable. Silly, but easy.
