ha ha :beam: you are right **pomme** …france is the biggest…not in population though **prstudio** i understand your argument, and agree with it. i was just seeking to highlight that europe has caught america up in terms of immigration. In fact the UK took the highest percentage (per capita) of immigrants in the WORLD last year. But, on a lighter note, all these FIT foreign girls are coming to London and they love English guys ahahhahaha :beam: **Russian Beer** speaking of russian alcohol, im working for a new russian vodka company whose chairman is General Mikhail Kalashnikov! crazy huh. i have waived some of the payment cos theyre gonna fly me to Siberia for 5 days to shoot AK-47s! ---

My parents speak good English and they learned it while they were studying in India a while ago. A few East Asian friends of mine also have parents who learned to speak English while living in their native countries. Simply having access to better education does not necessarily result in increased job opportunities in the native countries of many immigrants. There are other examples such as the immigrants from former soviet-countries who are brilliantly intelligent but could not find a good jobs in their own countries, so they had to emigrate to other countries. What I’m trying to say is, education may teach people English, but it won’t stop them from immigrating to the US and other countries 😛 :kommie: ---

true dat, kirupa… in england, we have alot of foreign nurses (for example)… in their nativ countries they earn maybe £1 a day, so they come here to earn £60 a day and give their children a future… sad thing is that it is screwing up their native country’s health system… there education standards (in nursing) are as high as here, it is the economic climate that facilitates emigration ---

**AHMED** of course you should be able to speak your mother tongue at home! i meant that when the people know i am the only one in the room not to understand their language, to still use it alienates me from a conversation. i just consider it bad manners. not a criminal offense. just bad manners… ---

Correct me if I am wrong… wasnt separation of church and state meant to keep the state out of the church? So the state couldnt say that there could only be “this” religion and that everyone not following it would be punished (i.e. the inquisition) it wasnt meant to keep religion out of everything ---

No its both, because in Europe, in some countries the Church held alot of power within the state and influence it actions. To avoid that, we seperate them both. ---

well in my mind… church leaders had more absolute power and control in a state due to peoples’ religious beliefs, so politicians separated the two so that we became ‘states’ not ‘religious states’ and democracy could run more efficiently as the politician had more power than the church doh, now im gettin confused! ---
