# IMPORTANT: javascript = about?

Hey Kirupa,

Why does the forum keep turning the word JAVASCRIPT to the word “about”??

Let me try a little test here…

JavaScript  
javascript  
javascript:void(0)  
JAVASCRIPT

Ok those work.

But now look…

Ok now look

Check the third javascript down. It says about now that I add the php tags. You can quote the post to see I didn’t manually do this.

No PHP tags, and it works :-

Whats up with this?

And I can’t use any other tags because they format the HTML code as a link and show the link instead ☹

Hey lost,  
Actually I searched around, and I am not sure why this error occurs. Maybe the forum is setup so that people do not end up embedding javascripts that may be causing problems.

I’ll try to see if something else might be up with this. Did this error only start occuring recently?

Yep… actually the error started occuring right after you put in the AS button :x

I really hope that isn’t what caused it though, I LOVE that button.

if it happened after I installed the AS button, it is what is causing it ☹ That could be why the support forums don’t offer much on this issue - the AS button is one of those ‘hacks’ that isn’t supported by the vB people hehe.

Well I found a semi work around. Use the HTML code for the greater than and less than Symbols.

```php
//less that
&lt;
//greater than
&gt;

```

And then you get  
\<A HREF=“javascript:void(0)”\>Void This Link\</A\>

edit: the PHP tag converted that HTML… odd. Quote the post to see it 😛

ARGH, and that doesn’t work now either!!! It worked before!!!

that is strange lol! All the tags go through some php file that converts familiar words into the different colors. Maybe the tag is designed so that anything JavaScript related gets removed or edited out - again not sure why it would do something like that.
