# Importing .png image and keep quality

How come when I import a .png or a .gif into flash it makes the image unclear to what it would look like in a regular HTML page. This has been bursting my bubble for a while now so I finally decided to ask! Thank you in advance for the help!

Save it at the highest quality in Photoshop.
Import it into Flash.
Open the Library.
Right click on your image.
Choose Properties.
Uncheck the Smoothing checkbox.
Uncheck the box for defaul compression quality or whatever it is called.
Replace the value of 50 with 100 for the best quality.

Flash automatically sets bitmaps to jpeg compression, so just look for the imported bitmap in the library and right click go to properties, and set compression to png/gif and it should display fine.
