# Insert hyperlink javascript tool

hey out there,

i’m trying to find a simple piece of javascript similar to the ‘insert hyperlink’ button on this forum.

for example, the user is filling in a form textarea, they hit the ‘insert hyperlink’, a js window opens prompting them for link txt, then the url and then inserts this into the textarea:

```auto
<a href="http://www.kirupa.com/">the excellent kirupa.com site</a>

```

where their cursor is.

does anyone know of something like this? i’ve found it as a feature on the wysiwyg javascript editors but i just wanna put this bit in! :thumb:
