# Is it possible to set variables in the HTML of the movie?

hi everyone,

i need to be able to set variables not inside of the flash movie itself, but in it’s HTML code (to be used in flash). is this possible??

i’ve seen it done using the ‘Movie’ and ‘Src’ tags:

\<PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="movie.swf?name=Me&email=mymail@mail.com\>

then when a visitor fills out a form in flash the above variables (among others which are set inside flash) are sent to a cgi from flash.

but i don’t know how this is done exactly…

any ideas??

the method you showed will put those variables in flash. go ahead and reference them.
