# Is there a limit for a flash's y and x axis

okay im making a game and ive made almost everything except extending the map… and i was wondering how far off the work area can movieclips go or is its unlimited… please let it be unlimited.

there was a post about this very recently but i can’t seem to find it. it contained a link to a thread started by kirupa about the limits/dimensions of flash. so you might want to look to that for an answer w/100% certainty, but i think the answer to your question is that the max width is 2880 px.

I created an infinite menu not long ago and although I had to set the stage to max 2880px I was still able to create a length of over 3500 and beyond because although I kept getting warnings telling me it was incorrect dimension- I could still do it - just not in window properties box. Just set the view to 25% and kept moving the menu across and adding to it. Problem was in setting the x,y values when linking it to root mc. had to play around with it alot.
