I have seen that you can make shapes look beveled out. It is an effect that adds a shadow like border to the shape. Is there anyway to easily do it? ---

Developer Resource Kit 5 (DRK5) from Macromedia for Flash MX 2004 includes all the components previously released for MX, including the bevel component… Check “News” forum for link.
