I’ve recently encountered this JPG phenomenon: the size of Photoshop and, for example, [Paint.NET](http://Paint.NET) saved JPG file differs a couple dozens of KB where Photoshop’s JPG is higher. I know it contains some additional information such as slices and other stuff I couldn’t identify with HEX editor.

When it comes to smile JPG files, [Paint.NET](http://Paint.NET) compresses JPG file to 1 KB while Photoshop does it not less than 18 KB. Can anybody describe this phenomenon, provide URL to a clever article or name some topic-related Google keywords?

Thanks. 😉
