# Just a quick question

I havent had to do this in awhile, but in MX how would you change the registration point of a object already created? I pulled a major blank…hrmmm (-:

If you mean in the authoring environment, then just edit the symbol in question and move the contents until the registration point (the cross in the center) is where you want it, relative to your contents.

If you mean through actionscript, then unfortunately you can’t. What you COULD do is attach the MC in question (let’s say MC1) to an empty MC (MC2), then just move MC1 in relation to MC2. MC2’s registration point can be used as a fake registration point for MC1.
