# Just installed apache, local host not working

Hi,

I decided to teach myself php and mysql so I installed the apache server to work locally on my computer. Everything seemed to go smoothly. For both the server configurations on the install I just put “localhost”

When I did the check to see if it worked the [http://127.0.0.1](http://127.0.0.1) said “It work’s!” but going to [http://localhost/](http://localhost/) did nothing.

Should I just ignore that? I tried it on IE and FF but IE just kept searching for localhost in google for some reason.
