# Kirupa tutorial - Adding Thumbnails - newby question!

Thought this tutorial was really well put together - got the sample code working no problem but I clearly don’t understand it properly because I’m failing to modify it and don’t understand why! Perhaps someone could help me.

I have created two buttons that load different xml files as source data for different galleries of pictures - this works fine, except if I load a gallery that has less pictures than the previous one, the images in the thumbnail strip still exist after the new gallery pictures have finished. I can’t work out how to clear the thumbnail images in order to implement my gallery idea!

I think I’m trying to run before I can walk but I can’t help it 🙂
