so i just made this new site. let me know what you think.

i used a random css background and i guess that doesn’t work in mozilla or netscape. so i would only try IE. if anyone can tell me how to fix this it would be greatly appriciated.

It’s only about 25% of the screen width. And I’m not a fan of the crossed-out hover menu.

oh man am i an idiot. after your comments i got a little suspicios because it all worked fine on my computer. so i checked it at my girlfriend’s house… and it didn’t work. long story short, i told the .css file to look for the image in C:. \*\*\*\* am i stupid. but it should all work ok now.
as for the strikethroughs… i’m not big on them either. it was just something that i don’t see on every single web site ever. and there is a reason for that… i will probably change them.

i would make your overlay darker and text lighter so you can read the text… when you have the light overlay and dark text… it is hard to read and the only way to fix that would be to keep it all the same… white text and bout 70%alpha black text underlay maybe… right now it is tough to read, thats all

thats an interesting idea freedejm. the only thing i am worried about is people who can’t see the background. because that white strip is part of the background image. so if it’s not there you won’t be able to read anything.
what if i left the writing black and made the white, whiter?.. like less transparent.

yeah. make the white less transparent. you might want to make your background images a little smaller size for anyone on 56k. i’m on cable and it still seemed to lag. other than that i like it. good job.

thanks for the comments bwh. i am currently working on the transparency issue.
and as for the load time, i checked it on my girlfriend’s dial-up and while it didn’t load right away, it was there with in a minute. and i am happy with that. because the picture is the main part of the site. i mean, who cares what i have to say… come for the pictures… so i don’t want to compromise the quality of them at all.

3d nirvana… i am guessing that it shows up like that because your screen looks awfully small. it’s only a 1024x768 image. on my browser it takes up the whole screen with some to spare. i plan on making a splash page that tells users that the required resolution in 1024x768.

yea you have resolution issues, your background image repeats when using high resolutions.

well what is worse? having the background not repeat and show white space? or having what nirvana showed up there. my other question is how many people will the effect? becuase i’ve showed a lot of people and that is the first time it’s happened

I’m seeing what 3D Nirvana is seeing on Mac IE and Safari @ 1280x1024.
Sometimes good use of white space isn’t all that bad.:thumb: Maybe it’ll cut down on load time also.

yea… but cleveland did have the Flutag this year and that was pretty awesome.
