# Little Flash placeholder

I’m making a “placeholder” mini-site for this organization, basically to get something up quickly, before we start actually working on their full site. It’s a Community Foundation, which basically just provides money to a bunch of different charities in the city.
We are going with a “bee” theme for the logo, collateral, brochures, etc, which will represent going around and “pollinating” different charities by helping them out through money, organization, or whatever.
Anyway, the placeholder is just supposed to give a little info about who they are and what they do - nothing too in-depth yet. And we actually don’t have final copy from the client yet, so it’s just lorem ipsum for now.
I’m mostly interested in hearing what you guys have to say about the usability, smoothness, and if there are any bugs/glitches.

Looks good man, I like it! :thumb:
The scrolling is pretty smooth, but still a little choppy on the machine I’m on right now. (It’s slightly older.) I also have a little bit of a vertical browser scroll, and I’m not sure why that is, since the bottom 600 pixels or so are just that yellow. There’s no onDragOut checking, so you can kinda screw with the rollovers.
I like it though. 🙂

Nicely done, and Missoula is certainly a nice place. Looks very clean and usable though.

Yeah, there are a few little rollover bugs that are kind of annoying… But they don’t really interfere with anything, and I don’t have enough hours left on this project to be too nitpicky 😛

I agree - the bee color was a directive passed on to me. They wanted it to match the logo exactly.
We’ll actually be changing the whole text treatment soon, so it should be crisp.
And I forgot to mention… Special thanks to Glos for the random motion script for the bee 🍺

It’s a shame you can’t sell them on the idea of a more realistic flying bee that morphs into the logo bee once the preloader completes ☹

One thing I’ll be changing tomorrow morning is the way the text works after you click on a hexagon… I don’t think the text fitting as a perfect hexagon works too well as far as readability, and the client agrees with me. So I’ll be trying a more conventional approach for the text. I’ll post an update when it’s done to see what you fellas think.

The animation during the preloader, and the animation following the preloader is quite nice. The honeycomb aligned text is a bit annoying imo.

Looks fantastic, very clean. I love when a site acts as a surface that the user manipulates through navigation. My only suggestion was already suggested… Add onDragOut handler to your buttons…

I just added the onDragOut function to the honeycombs.
