The idea was first announced in May 2002 and the two freehold palm tree-shaped resort islands are expected to maintain Dubai’s position as a premium tourist destination. The project is being handled by Al Nakheel Properties, which will increase Dubai’s shoreline by 120km and create a large number of residential, leisure and entertainment areas. I imagine there’d be a lot of accidental deaths. Depending on the location of course. People falling into the ocean, hurricanes taking out neighbourhoods, etc. I’d be too scared to live there. Unless I was old, with no real goals left in life. Then it might be cool. ---

yea thats the problem with people in dubai, they have loads of money and no place to spend, i have been to many places allove the world, this city is just so beautiful, amazing buildings, biggest malls. ---

No, the place is still under construction and will be ready in about 5 years time.Sea is always calm on these areas specially, low tide, there’s no danger living there and plus the company which is handeling this project must have thought about that, i am sure they have some measures to counter that problem(if it ever occurs) plus many celebrities have already booked a villa here, one of them is david bachem(did i spell it right?) ---

That place looks really nice 🙂 I read about this in Wired or Newsweek a while ago. While I am not a big fan of outdoor sunny resorts ( the last thing I need is more of a tan), I can see why it would be a big hit though! :goatee: ---
