# Loading Text from External Sources Tut does not scroll

[/color][/size][/font][font=Arial][size=1][color=#808080] by [color=#808080]chris9902[/color][/color][/size][/font]when i put in a nice paragraph of text in the .txt file… when flash calls it up the scroll bar does not work…

anyone know how to fix this prob… ive tried, but with not much success…

make sure that the target field on your scrollbar is your textfield’s instance name.

where can i set the instance name of a text field…

the only box i see is directly under where it says Dynamic Text…

in this case it has the name newsBox…

i entered newsBox for the Scrollbar and nothing happens…

where do i name the instance of a Dynamic Textbox for scroller to pick it up?

are you using the built in flash component scrollbar? if so, drag it from the components panel and drop it on your text box… it’ll attach itself…
