# Macbook pro vs. powerbook G4

Im on the fence as to what I should purchase. I’m leaning more toward the dependable powerbook though. I’m hearing horror stories on how slow Studio and CS run on the new macbook pro under Rosetta. These being apps I use everyday that poses a problem. Plus with any new release I’m sure there are some other bugs that haven’t been discovered yet.
What’s everyones thoughts? Any owners of the new macbook having any issues. Better yet, previous Mac users that moved to a macbook pro.
I’m about sold on getting a powerbook. Just want to see if anyone has any objections.🙂

I hear the MacBook Pro is better than the PowerBook but check in with nokrev he has a new MacBook Pro and he says its better and faster than previous Mac laptops.

I’d stick with PowerPC for at least another year. The whole Intel/Rosetta/emulation business seems pretty ugly right now…

I suggest you wait until they port the appz you use to run without rosetta, but like I said nokrev did some PS tests on his MBP and he said it was faster, then again he is a Mac fan probly hyped from finally getting his MBP :lol:

Yeah, they boast 4x faster with native apps. I saw Nokrev’s thread, hopefully he chimes in on his experience.
@ya3, That’s my biggest concern. I see it as being a major slow down, at least until Adobe upgrades their products. Plus battery life I hear is poor.
