# MacBookPro vs Powerbooks

I’m going to to be purchasing a Mac laptop to do some graphic design work from home - baby on the way in December. For compatability sake with work, font-wise, I gotta bite the bullet and go with the more expensive Macs.

I started doing a little online research and Photoshop is supposed to really dog on these new MacBook Pros.

Questions:

Does Photoshop run as poorly as I hear through Rosetta? I’d be using a ton of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Quark.

If I bought a used Powerbook, which runs Photoshop well, would the new universal CS3 Photoshop run like a Dog on the PowerPC CPU?

Would a fairly heavy Photoshop user be able to gut it out for a few months til a Universal Photoshop comes out?
