# Macromedia to test Linux support

[C|Net is reporting that [url=“http://news.com.com/2100-7344-5170061.html”] **Macromedia to test Linux support** for Flash MX and possibly other Macromedia development tools. First, so the plan goes, they intend to optimize Flash MX for [url=“http://www.winehq.com/”]Wine](http://news.com.com/) and then, depending on developer demand (which I suspect would be high) to _“produce Linux-native versions of Flash MX and other applications”_. Nothing’s set in stone, but its looking good for the Linux community.
