# Making the Switch

So I’ve begun my journey to the holy MacLand. I needed to replace my laptop and I needed something small like my 13" fujitsu that died. To get something that sized and beefy enough to do what I needed it to do I was up in the 1100-1500 dollar price range.

I spent 2 weeks shopping for the right PC laptop. (my disaster work requires that I use certain software that is PC only.) But after looking and looking I hadn’t found anything that really worked and was what I wanted… then I considered the MacBook. 13.3", 80 GB HD, 1GB of Ram and only 1150 at my local store… and now that Macs can run windows natively it was a no brainer.

I ended up getting the black one since it had a much bigger HD and I thought it was less likely to look like hell after I take it all over the world and scratch it up.

Fo my laptop replacement it made some financial sense to make the switch, but I think it will still be a little bit before I replace the desky with a g5.
